Scientific and Cultural Consultation Meeting with Afghan Scholars at the International University of Islamic Denominations
The Cultural and Student Affairs Department, along with the International Scientific Cooperation Management of the International University of Islamic Denominations, hosted a delegation of prominent Afghan scholars and professors on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
In this meeting, Dr. Jamalifar, Vice President of Cultural and Student Affairs, introduced the history, mission, and academic disciplines of the university, emphasizing the diversity of international students' nationalities.
Mr. Rouhani presented a report on the delegation's visit to various regions of Khorasan, mentioning their meetings with Sunni and Shia scholars. He highlighted the importance of these discussions in strengthening scientific and cultural relations.
Dr. Jamalifar also discussed the misconceptions propagated by Western media about Muslims and stressed the need for solidarity and rapprochement among Islamic sects. Dr. Morteza Hamed, a professor from Afghanistan, referred to the inclusion of Sunni managers at the International University of Islamic Denominations and considered this action in line with the Prophet Muhammad's tradition.
At the end of the session, Dr. Jamalifar spoke about joint academic collaborations and scientific projects. The guests also visited the university's central library, which is rich in Sunni and Shia resources.
This meeting was regarded as a significant step toward strengthening scientific and cultural ties between the universities of the two countries, with hopes for positive outcomes.
