Faculty of Quran and Hadith
This faculty was formerly known as the Departments of Quran and Hadith, Islamic History, and Arabic Language and Literature since the early years of the university’s establishment. However, in the new era of 2021, following structural changes and redefinition of the faculties, it was officially renamed as the Faculty of Quran and Hadith. It now comprises the departments of Quran and Hadith Sciences, Islamic History, and Arabic Language and Literature.
Objectives of the Faculty:
- Training committed, faithful, and capable individuals in the fields of Quranic sciences, Arabic literature, and Islamic history, particularly for teaching and propagation.
- Providing academic and cultural services to cultural and religious institutions and organizations.
- Enhancing the cultural and academic level in the field of Quranic knowledge.
- Exchanging strategic Quranic, literary, and historical research with academic and research centers.
- Developing skilled scholars and researchers in Quranic, literary, and historical sciences.
Mission of the Faculty:
This faculty, in line with the mission of the International University of Islamic Denominations, strives to showcase the culture of rapprochement and unity between Islamic denominations through the participation of distinguished Sunni and Shia professors and the integration of Sunni and Shia students. The Faculty of Quran and Hadith, with the support of prominent professors in Quran and Hadith sciences, Islamic history, and Arabic language and literature, seeks to provide comprehensive and deep education in these fields and train specialized students and researchers. Among the notable professors from whom the faculty has benefited are Dr. Abdolkarim Biazar Shirazi, the former president of the university; Dr. Majid Maaref; Dr. Abdolhadi Feqhizadeh from the Quran and Hadith Sciences department; and Dr. Sedghi and Dr. Ashkouri from the Arabic Language and Literature department, as well as Dr. Sadeq Ayenehvand, Dr. Ahmad Khezri, Dr. Ahmad Badkoubeh, Dr. Asghar Ghaedan, Dr. Ali Mohammad Valavi, Dr. Mohsen Alviri, and Dr. Abbas Bromand A’lam.
Dean of the Faculty:
Dr. Hamed Shariati Niassar, PhD in Quran and Hadith Sciences from the University of Tehran and an assistant professor in the Quran and Hadith Sciences department at the International University of Islamic Denominations, is currently the dean of this faculty.
